Volunteer Opportunities

Join a group of missionary-minded volunteers who are making a difference in the world...

OMAT is currently recruiting health providers for its 2010 humanitarian missions to Haiti and Guyana.  Missionary-minded Obstetricians/Gynecologists; Cytologists; Nurse Practitioners; Family Practitioners; Pediatricians; and Surgeons may request an application by e-mailing Dr. Stephen S. Carryl at  OMATmission1@aol.com.

During humanitarian missions, OMAT volunteers are based at a host hospital for one week. The volunteers assist staff in running general medical clinics, performing specialized surgical procedures, conducting diagnostic processes, and performing other specialty procedures as needed.

OMAT provides in-service training for nursing staff and students in areas identified by the host hospital. Local healthcare providers also take the opportunity to shadow OMAT practitioners in order to upgrade their skills or learn the most current information on a given subject.

At the request of the host hospital, OMAT conducts clinics in remote areas where there is little or no access to medical services. In addition, OMAT organizes and conducts free community health fairs to provide basic screenings, show health videos, distribute literature, and provide useful, health-related incentives to local residents.
