OVERSEAS MEDICAL
ASSISTANCE TEAM (OMAT) SEEKS VOLUNTEERS FOR MISSION TO GUYANA
15th Anniversary Trip to Guyana March 2007 -- The Overseas Medical Assistance Team (OMAT) is currently seeking volunteers to join its 2007 humanitarian mission to Guyana, South America. The trip is tentatively set for June 17-23, 2007. Obstetrician/Gynecologists, Family Practitioners, Cytologists, and Nurse Practitioners and Surgeons are invited to apply. The mission will be led by Stephen S. Carryl, MD, OMAT's President & Founder.
OMAT made its first humanitarian mission to Guyana in 1991. "In keeping with our ongoing 15th Anniversary Celebrations, we are looking forward to continuing our work in Guyana. This mission trip is being planned with the same dedication and enthusiasm that was the hallmark of our first trip," Dr. Carryl said.
OMAT's annual trips to Guyana are based at the Davis Memorial Hospital, a Seventh-day Adventist insitution where Dr. Carryl sits on the Board, and at Linden Hospital Complex, in Dr. Carryl's hometown. Most recently OMAT's mission foucused on Women's Health to the Amerindian population.
Founded in 1992, the Overseas Medical Assistance Team is a nonprofit, 501 (c) (3). Its mission is to provide medical assistance to vulnerable and at-risk populations in developing countries and the United States of America through dedicated volunteers.
