Healing the World

First Responders include the OMAT

Upon hearing of the devastating earthquake in Haiti, Stephen Carryl, MD, President of OMAT and Chairman of surgery at Brooklyn Medical Center, and a small team of physicans joined with the Brooklyn Hospital to respond to the need for emergency help.  Dr. Carryl and the team flew to the Dominican Republic and drove to Cap Haitien then to Port Au Prince. OMAT has also partnered with ADRA  and received the support of the Allegheny East Conference of Seventh day Adventist.  His local church is also supporting fund raising efforts to provide medical supplies.  Upon his return Dr. Carryl will organize a larger team to return to provide additional care.

A report on their activities will follow.
